PE Agenda November 18-22

Parents,

November is American Diabetes Month, COPD Awareness Month, Lung Cancer Awareness Month, National Healthy Skin Month, and National Stomach Cancer Awareness Month.
We have added jumping rope to our stretching routine in many of our classes and we will work on it for a good portion of the year. Through the use of balance and coordination, it is a full body exercise that works on brain development and it is good for our heart.  In my opinion, swimming is the best exercise for the body, and jump rope is number two.

Each middle school grade level will only meet once this week for PE because of a field trip scheduled for Thursday November 21.

Middle School Schedule
Monday November 18--"B" Day (8th Grade has PE)
Tuesday November 19--"C" Day (6th Grade has PE)
Wednesday Novemer 20--No Middle School (Normal Mass Day)
Thursday November 21--No Middle School (Field Trip)
Friday November 22--"A" Day (7th Grade has PE)

Looking at next week for Middle School:
Monday November 25--"B" Day (8th Grade has PE)
Tuesday November 26--No Middle School (Mass Day--last day of school week)

Note: One of our parents (Mrs. Kozenski) has a giant map that she allows us to use each year.  The map will be in the gym Tuesday November 26.  Each homeroom will have an opportunity to come in and do different activities with the map.  We will not be able to be in the gym that Tuesday (fourth grade, Catton homeroom, and second grade are affected).  If you child is in those homerooms, please be prepared to go outside for class.

We will continue to work on movement games that incorporate teamwork, running, passing, catching, speed and quickness.

Good Luck Rams Teams!

Have a Great Week!
