This Week At A Glance

Parents,

The new rotation for middle school (start of second quarter) is Monday and I will have the seventh grade band and choir students along with the seventh grade general music that has a few sixth graders for the next three weeks.  Students will still need their PE clothes for class even though it is a dress out week—I will give them time at the end of class to change clothes.  The seventh grade homework will be due Monday or Tuesday, respectively.  The sixth grade and eighth grade should be working on their homework (5 days of physical activities in a 7-day period) at home and journaling the activities with one parent signature for every 7-day period.  We are excited to be started a new project in the second quarter for middle school that involves the promotion and education of nutrition along with physical education and wellness.  We are partnering with the PF Jr. Foundation (website is http://www.pfjrfoundation.org/) to help educate the students on proper nutrition and the importance of staying physically active among other things.

The fourth and fifth grade will play a movement game that involves strategy, aerobic activity, action and reaction, and teamwork (cooperative activities).

The second-third grade split and the third grade classes will continue to work on jumping rope along with playing movement games that involve aerobic activity and teamwork.

Second grade (O’Neal) will continue to work on jumping rope along with kickball unit—we will try to play games this week.

First grade will work on jumping rope and a movement game that involves strategy and teamwork.

Kindergarten will continue to work on jumping rope along with a unit that will focus on throwing and catching a tennis ball overhand.

Preschool will start to work on the balance beam and a partner movement activity.

Have a great week and GO COLTS!
